BeastCoast Drift's Grassroots Competition Shakes Up the Southeast Drift Scene

BeastCoast Drift, a prominent drift team in the Southeast, recognized a gap in the region's grassroots drifting scene and decided to fill it with their unique brand of competition. They introduced a 235mm 300 treadwear (tw) tire limit to level the playing field, making it fairer and more exciting for all participants.

Recently, they hosted Round 2 of their competition at the Citrus County Speedway, marking the first-ever drift event at this venue. The track proved to be an excellent choice for the 235mm tire width limit, allowing for close-proximity tandems and fast, action-packed drifting.

BeastCoast Drift has excelled in marketing this competition, offering substantial payouts that have attracted attention from the drifting community. A standout feature of their approach is the creation of a drivers' group, where participants could voice their preferences for the competition. This "by drivers, for drivers" ethos has resonated well with competitors.

The event saw fierce competition, especially among drivers using Zeknova tires. Notably, our team drivers Tom Merminod (@tmermdrifty) and Luis Braz (@brazdrift) secured the top two spots. Tom, in only his second competition ever, took home first place, while Luis clinched second.

Kudos to both drivers for an outstanding performance, demonstrating that these tires are winners across the board!
