This past weekend, Pikes Peak International Raceway hosted the exhilarating Drift Colorado Drift Championship Round 3, and what a spectacular event it was! Among the impressive lineup of drivers, we were particularly thrilled to see Zeknova’s sponsored driver, James Ford, behind the wheel of his striking blue C6 Corvette, aptly named the AHA Vette after its title sponsor.
The competition featured multiple groups, each categorized by the type of car to solidify your spot in the competition. The relentless heat, peaking at a scorching 100 degrees, tested both the drivers and their machines. Despite the extreme conditions, James Ford showcased his exceptional skills and resilience, claiming an outstanding first-place position in Group A. The performance of his Zeknova tires was nothing short of remarkable, delivering the grip and durability needed to secure the top spot.
But the true highlight of the day was a testament to the camaraderie and sportsmanship within the drifting community. When James’s friend, Daniel Hendrick, experienced a fire in his car that put him out of the competition, James did not hesitate. He handed over his keys to Daniel, allowing him to continue the competition in his own car. This act of generosity and team spirit resulted in Daniel taking home second place in Group B. Whether it was the superior performance of Zeknova tires, Daniel’s incredible driving skills, or a combination of both, it was an unbelievable achievement.
The remarkable bond between drivers and the support they provide each other is what makes the drifting community truly special. We are immensely proud to have James Ford on our team, embodying the spirit and values we hold dear at Zeknova. His outstanding performance, coupled with his selflessness, exemplifies the kind of driver and person that enriches the sport of drifting.
