Willow Springs, CA – October 12 2024 – Luis Lanz secured an impressive 2nd place finish at Round 3 of The Drift League, held at the legendary Horse Thief Mile in Willow Springs Raceway. Despite a grueling schedule, including a long drive home and less than an hour of sleep, Lanz showcased remarkable skill and determination behind the wheel.
Equipped with Zeknova Supersports RS 300TW 255 tires, Lanz battled through multiple One-More-Time (OMT) rounds, ultimately earning a spot on the podium. The competition was fierce, with seasoned judges Formula Drift Pro driver Rome Charpentier (CP) and Josh Stuart keeping a close eye on every run.
Reflecting on his performance, Lanz credited his success to the exceptional grip and performance of the Zeknova tires. “All my wins, including my ProAm championship, are thanks to the incredible grip of these tires. They give me the edge to leave the competition behind and stay close to my rivals with ease,” Lanz remarked.
The final battle was against Jake Gonzalez, who outpaced Lanz after a surprising jump off the start line. “I lost first place because I dozed off at the line—Jake was faster than I expected,” Lanz admitted.
Despite the narrow loss, Lanz and his team celebrated the result as a significant achievement. “It turned out to be a great event, and we’re happy with the results,” he said.
This podium finish solidifies Luis Lanz’s reputation as a rising star in the drifting community, fueled by skill, perseverance, and the unwavering support of cutting-edge equipment.
